Volcanic mudflows of the Clarno Formation
These volcanic mudflow deposits (lahars) were deposited on the lower reaches of stratovolcanoes during the Eocene in central Oregon. They are preserved along with numerous andesitic lava flows as the Clarno Formation. This photo is of the pinnacles at the Clarno Unit of John Day National Monument.
